FAQs
There are many different styles of diamond pendants to suit every taste and occasion. A solitaire pendant has a single feature diamond which sits elegantly on the end of the chain. These make spectacular anniversary and Valentine’s Day gifts. Diamond halo pendants feature a centre diamond surrounded by a ‘halo’ of smaller diamonds for added sparkle.
Heart shaped diamond pendants symbolise love and affection, again, perfect for Valentines! At Hoskings you’ll find pear-shaped diamond pendants, antique-style diamond pendants, and cross pendants. Hoskings also has a beautiful collection of diamond pendants with other symbols, such as infinity symbols, the Tree of Life, double hearts, open circle diamond pendants, “Mum” pendants and more.
There are no hard and fast rules about what chain works best with a diamond pendant. As always, it comes down to your personal preference. However, it’s usual to choose a more delicate chain to wear with smaller diamond pendants, such as the cable link chains and Singapore chains.
For larger statement diamond pendants, a more substantial chain will provide more support. You can choose from box chains, curb link chains, wheat chains, figaro link chains and belcher link chains.
Although Hoskings provides complimentary plated display chains with many of our pendants, we also stock a wide range of chains to suit every taste and budget. That includes silver chains, white gold chains, yellow gold chains and rose gold chains, so we know you’ll find something you love.
Absobloominlutely! Diamond pendants make a GREAT anniversary gift! After all diamonds symbolise everything anniversaries stand for, unity, longevity, and love. The timeless beauty of diamond pendants means that they’re suitable to wear for every occasion, so the lucky recipient can wear their gift every day if they wish.
At Hoskings we stock an impressive range of different diamond pendant styles, so you can be sure you’ll find the perfect piece to celebrate your anniversary. From a classic solitaire pendant or halo pendant, to heart shaped diamond pendants, pear-shaped diamond pendants, open circle diamond pendants and infinity diamond pendants. Any of these diamond pendants make a thoughtful anniversary gift that will cherished for years to come.
Because variety is the spice of life, at Hoskings we stock diamond pendants with many different types of settings. The settings that work for diamond pendants include the bezel, claw (or ‘prong’) and halo settings. As well as halo, pave and grain settings.
The bezel setting encloses the diamond in a secure metal surround. Claw settings use metal claws or prongs to hold the diamond in place while allowing maximum light exposure for enhanced brilliance. And halo setting, where a diamond is surrounded by a ring of smaller diamonds that accentuate the centre stone.
With the pave and grain settings, the diamonds are set closely together or along a channel in the pendant. Each of these result in the same thing, a stunning eye-catching diamond pendant!
Learning to care for diamond pendants just requires a little effort but will reward you with a lifetime of sparkles. These are Hoskings Jewellers top tips on how to care for diamond pendants:
- Be careful to remove your diamond pendant before engaging in sporting activities and avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, perfumes, or lotions.
- Use a specialised cleaning cloth like these Connoisseur cleaning cloths to give your pendant a glow-up every few days or so.
- Every week or two, bathe your diamond pendant by mixing mild dish soap with warm water and soak it for 15 – 20 minutes.
- Gently scrub any residue away with a soft toothbrush.
- Rinse it under warm running water, making sure it can’t fall down the plug hole.
- Pat dry with a lint-free cloth.

- Bring your diamond pendant into your local Hoskings store once a year to be professionally cleaned and inspected to make sure the diamond pendant settings are secure.
