FAQs
Hoskings Jewellers has a long and happy history of providing our customers with the most popular analogue watch brands since 1945! We stock a substantial range of traditional analogue watch brands like Seiko and Citizen, as well as fashion-forward analogue watch brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Armani Exchange, Jag, Maserati, and Fossil. All assured for excellent quality and friendly customer service.
You’ll find these most popular analogue watch brands online and in store:
The water resistance of analogue watches varies on their design and specifications. Some of Hoskings Jewellers analogue watches are water resistant, which means they will withstand light water splashes or a light rain shower. However not all watches are designed to tolerate water exposure, and some may become damaged if they are exposed to even a light shower. At Hoskings, we recommend that you check the watch’s water resistance rating and follow the manufacturers guidelines for that watch to make sure it’s safe to expose to water.
We do stock a range of high-specification analogue watches that will be ok to submerge completely in water, especially at lower depths. These are called analogue divers watches. You can read more about water-resistant watches here.
Analogue watches are super versatile and can be worn whenever you fancy! At Hoskings Jewellers we have a range of smart looking analogue watches that are perfect for professional settings and formal occasions. But many analogue watches work just as well in the surf as in the boardroom. You can choose from analogue watches with leather straps or analogue watches with metal bands depending on your preference and how much work you’ll put your watch through. We even have a great range of kids’ analogue watches.
Here at Hoskings Jewellers, we’re often asked what’s the difference between analogue watches and digital watches. Put simply, analogue watches have a traditional watch ‘face’ with the hour and minute hands on a dial that move around the numerical points.
Digital watches show the time on an electronic screen. The time might be in am and pm or can also be read as a 24 clock. Generally, analogue watches are considered more appropriate for formal wear as they’re more traditional. But digital watches often offer extras such as alarms and timers.
If you’re wondering where to get an analogue watch repaired, we’ve got some great news for you. Hoskings Jewellers has a long and proud history of watchmaking, so our master craftspeople still perform many watch repairs.
Depending on the watch brand and the complexity of the repair, in some cases we may need to send your analogue watch to be repaired in the brand’s service centre. Our professional customer service team will be very happy to help you arrange this.
