How to wear
We recommend that you avoid wearing your watch in a hot shower, hot tub or any environments where it will be exposed to harsh chemicals and sudden or extreme changes to temperature. Please check the marking on the back of your watch case and refer below to confirm the appropriate use of your watch.
30M WR Suitable for accidental splashes and light rain.
50M WR Suitable for light poolside swimming, but not snorkelling or diving.
100M WR Suitable for swimming, snorkelling but not diving.
200M WR Suitable for swimming, surf, water sports and skin diving but not scuba diving.
300M WR Suitable for professional and recreational scuba diving. Pressure resistant to the depth indicated.
If you regularly use your watch in chlorine or the sea, we recommend you rinse your watch with fresh water to help prevent saltwater damage or corrosion of the watch case. Try to avoid over-exposing your watch to sandy/dirty environments.
Ideally, your watch should be pressure tested after every service or battery replacement. For optimal protection and water resistance, we recommend having your watch pressure tested annually.
How to clean a metal band
Wipe gently with a micro fibre cloth. For a deeper clean, we suggest filling a small bowl with warm water and add just a few drops of liquid soap. Gently brush with a soft bristled toothbrush to clean in between any links to remove stubborn build up or dirt. Do not brush too hard or use any abrasive products, to avoid scratching your watch, particularly if it is plated.
How to clean a leather band
Be careful not to get the band too wet, as this may damage the leather. We recommend a leather cleaner or a micro fibre cloth for a quick clean in between deep cleanings. Keeping your leather watch band conditioned is vital to maintaining your watch, as this will avoid your band getting too dry and cracking.
If your watch requires a deeper clean, bring it to our expert team at Hoskings Jewellers for assessment.
How to store
When you are not wearing your watch, we recommend storing them in a lined, watch box to keep them in pristine condition and avoid damage or scratches.
